KATHLEEN KELSO

Los Angeles-based indie-folk singer-songwriter. Something with another hyphen.

Kathleen Kelso grew up in West LA and has been performing all her life, but only recently started writing and playing original music. Her debut single, What It Is, was released in late March of 2022 and her first EP, Easy Smile, is currently in production with a release planned for the end of June.

Kelso's expressive vocals, tender but powerful, are the focal point of her sound and are usually supported by sparse acoustic arrangements. A charming onstage presence balances out the melancholy found in her songs, which often deal with the pain found in relationships of all kinds. Her musical influences include Brandi Carlile, Phoebe Bridgers, and Elton John.
